Been getting work done.

Well few days ago I started on sanding down the car and priming it, taking it off piece by piece, been raining on and off so I only got the trunk done, hopefully today I can get 2 doors and the hood sanded and primed. Then it's rain for 2 days... I only have a few pics of the sanding process but I'll post some of the primer job and how it all looks after

Half sanded, didn't break the Road Runner badge while prying it off.

what are you using for primer? also carefull sanding the big flat spots. if you using a da or of that sort you can heat the metal and warp it.

You'll want to go over it with a flat sanding block and 400 grit (minimum) before priming. Also, there is a primer out there (I think Sanels has it) that actually fills in very small sanding scratches. Makes the finished product look very nice. Also, you may want to get some glazing to fill in the little larger scratches.

I'm using an angle grinder with a sanding attachment, it does get very hot, which is why I stop and let it cool every few minutes, so I don't warp anything. I'm using Rustoleum Primer.

if thats what your using your kinda wasting your time and money,
400 is a bit too fine, if your using a da sander go with 180, block sanding 200, then epoxy primer, then primer filler

Had to use spray can primer for the trunk, I'm switching to Paint Shop primer since I got a spray gun and compressor now.
