Nat -

You have a late 70's 440 (good block, but but no compression with those pistons, which makes most "big" cams are a no-no.
Pick compression with new pistons/crank, then optimize cam and intake/exhaust will follow.

I like the TQ, but more for a small block, than a BB (I know they came from the factory that way...)
A Holley or good Eddy would be a better bet.

By the time you get all the new parts and add in machine work, you might be better off saving your bucks and getting a crate motor.
Not as much fum to build, but easier to drive.

Here is a cam and kit is as big as I would go.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...23-4/overview/ it says you can use a stock converter but......

Here is on I think would perform better with a stock 440.

get a full kit with springs etc and a good timing chain.
Summit can help you with other parts.
look at 440soures.com also, I would recommend a book on performance builds of the 440.
