Camshaft help!!!
Camshaft help!!!
I am currently restoring a 75 Dart, and I am putting a stock 360 in it. I am looking for a cam with a little lobe in the idle, but I don't want to change the valves, springs or lifters. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Ive been doing some cam research for a 318 build and playing around with CamQuest(On compcams website-offers a simulated dyno based on features you put in) combined with the advice of the guys who really know their stuff on here has proven invaluable.
i put a 1968 4 speed 340 cam in a 1980 360. but had to have the valves guided timed. it has some lift but cant remember. a guess .444 lift. for a daily driver this should be the limit. a low stall 318 converter worked fine. it made lots of power. and used lots of fuel. it was in a 1982 ram club cab 3/4 extra DH. 5,000 lb. but i walked all over a ford deisel truck.
Don't forget that when you get into lumpy cams, You start loosing your lowend and you also start moving the RPM range higher for normal operations....
Now with that said.......
I like Crane Cams..... (Chas) who works at Crane is an Mopar guy.
I like there Classic cams....
