Code 1004

Are all the manufactures using these damned runner valves now? My 300 3.5 short runner valve flapper is all crudded up and barely turns. Throws a 1004 and I'm going into limp mode. Will this code cause limp mode or should I be looking elsewhere? The only other code is EGR, for years that's been on.

Sorry if I'm in the wrong place. Late, tired, wits end. You know.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Take it off and clean it and install a new o-ring and see if that helps the issue...
When you take it off Pay Close attention at what the angle is of the blade so you can reinstall it at the same position.

Pull and clean the EGR if you can also.... Should show a code of PO404, PO405, PO406, ???

Keep us posted...
