Dodge Diplomat 318
I have been given a mint condition dodge diplomat 1984 with a 318 in it. When I say mint I mean it. It has 60,000 for milage and not a scratch and runs like gold. All original parts. I cannot seem to find anyone that will give me a true value of this car. I heard that the 318 engine made it worth allot of money. Does anyone have a idea on this?
I really don't see how the 318 makes it worth a lot of money, sorry. If it was a police package car maybe worth a little more than a plain Dippy, but otherwise not so much so, the 318 was a standard motor for that car. The originality and low miles might help raise the value a bit, but I wouldn't start planning my retirement based on it...
Dodge diplomats dont seem to be worth much money. I saw a mint condition one in the boneyard last sunday. I couldn't believe how good of condition it was in. I think the lean burn ignition system is what is there doom mostly. Around here, maybe you could get about 800 - 1000.
Also, the 318 was one of the most widely produced engines ever made, who knows, 15 million of them made? Sorry to rain on the parade.
