first thing i thought of when i seen this post was " Gooood Morning Vietnam! " haha I just had to, Hope you have a good weekend Racerhog and I appreciate all the help getting my new engine to fire up i broke it in this morning and drove it around the block runs good so far other than while parked it runs rough around 2200-3000 rpm, ( Ive not been past 3k )

 

 

I hope that every one has a great 4th weekend, stay safe, have fun and enjoy the fireworks and parades. Oh yeah the burgers, brats and corn on the cob!

Morning. Woke up to two dogs in my bed, life is good. Nice weekend weather not humid like this past week 40' Celsius humidex brutal.

Nephew's A/C on the fritz, Mom had a hanger fall down behind washer against both prongs of power cord yesterday, gotta go fix that today.

Took '92 truck "Doug E" 480,000 kilometers to scrap yesterday, removed good drivetrain and front suspension parts first.

Gotta take out '72 Demon trans (racecar) has detent ball or shifter fork problem giving him fits at the track. I shouldn't complain, it's better than smoking weed and playing video games like the kid across the street does all day.

Some days though I'd like to be like the guy in the song "I'm a happy idiot waving at the cars".

Sunday, coffee and dogs. Going to look at some old used tools this morning, could be good. Shawn then wants to change the thermostat and serp belt in the V10 truck....not fun. I want to remove the trans from the Demon and get him back to the track....fun.

Working in the sun with a couple of youngsters on a 1974 Dodge Dart 318, Replacing a power steering gear box... What a nightmare... Weld nuts broke off in the K-Member... Took a bit of the day to get the hidden one removed.. But we are starting to win the battle, one the downward swing going into today. Wish I had done a Video on this one, might be a good seller.. But still not a fun job laying in the dirt doing this job....
Dang Dan.... You are one busy dude!!!!! Hope you get all that done.. Hope you get the trans figured out and squared away..

Thanks.... It got done!!!! But man. When that weld nut brakes off under the gear box. It is quit a chore to get it apart. And when you have run out of Axcel/Oxy and the tanks empty... Man things get tough.... But she is all done and back in the Hunt...Try to stay Cool Jaxx..

 

Good morning or should I now say evening! Been hot and humid here in Maine too couple days in the low 90's. That's pretty hot for here. Thunderstorms been rolling through and washed out the front lawn that just got planted! So, back at it tomorrow! Someday I'll get the car out! Gotta pull the dash gauge panel out and install the new Autometer gauges! Hopefully by this weekend...we'll see! Take care!

still picking along on the RPU - decided to notch the under side of the frame about 3/4 of and inch for the front axle bump stop, so I will tear ever thing off it this weekend and flip it over and get out the grinder. hoping to catch the guy that has the 64 dodge pick up I traded for so I can get it to the house and start on it . Morning. Wicked hot and humid. Out this morning at 5:30 am fixing a Tim Horton's donut oven. Picked up the Mustang son's brown Lab dog so he can take his fiance' and two other girls wedding dress shopping, he's a braver man than me.

Demon son and I have truck, trailer and maybe A Body 4 speed work to do....poor me!

Dogs, Trucks, Wrenches and maybe some welding...this is the heaven I hope to go to when I die.

 

Dan if you need any a body 4 speeds let me know, I have a few in the shed.

4 speeds are FUN till start breaking parts. The correct clutch and driving style parts can servive longer.
