Hello and Hemi question...
Hi,
Name's Paul and I'm not a Hemi guy. It's not that I don't love 'em. It's because I'm too poor to afford a muscle car... I'm a single dad raising 4 kids on my own so money's tight.
Now, with introduction aside I have a question. A friend of mine has some property and in the way............. back of the property are some old cars. Lying next one of them is this:

Now, I only know it's a Hemi engine but that's it. I don't see a way I could get the entire engine out of there unless I break it down. So, I have to ask if it's worth it. I know not ALL Hemi motors are worth something.
Thanks in advance for helping e identiy this!
Here are some more pics. Maybe it could help identify this...

This thing's like a mile back in the brush. There are some old ambulances a really cool looking tow truck (with a HUGE spotlight) and Jeeps around it. I don't think I can even get a truck back there at this point to pull the motor out whole. I'd have to break it down but even that doesnt look promising, huh?

Would the heds or intake or any of that be worth anything? I thought about hitting it with some penetrating oil then going back to break the heads free. I'm sure two guys wouldn't be able to carry this out. The only hemiengines I'm familiar with are the old Toyota engines and 2 people could easily carry one of them.

I didn't know size was stated near the freeze plugs. I'll check it out next time I'm back there.
X3 on location. I'd be willing to bet that it is down south or out west somewhere. If you can take a breaker bar and turn the crank, then the motors are worth getting out and selling. With those rot holes in the oil pan, I wouldn't hold my breathe.
Of course if I found a hemi motor I would save it. But then again a hemi motor, no matter what condition, is a gem in my eyes.

Stop crying. Not a lot of value here. This is a Hemi from the early days. It may be as big as a 392 but likely smaller. These were very heavy and didn't make the power later hemis did. As rusted as this is, there would be more money spent at the macinist than it is worth. Now where is it can I have it? (just kidding) let it die in piece (I know peace)
Sad thing is I know where there are several (as in about 8-9) early hemis near me, de soto, dodge, chrysler, and at least one is a 392, and 2 354's. The owner died, his wife is old, and she won't do anything with the stuff on top of the hill. Used to be a junk yard, and nothing there is newer than 1966. I'm afraid that one day all wil be dragged off the hill and just scrapped. I think she thinks I'm a stalker now, I've pestered her so much. <sigh>
