Whadda you doin now................

Quite confusing man I am,
especially when I look into the mirror.
First things first.
The charger has arrived.
Almost got killed when it rolled off the trailer.
Rule number One.........Keep safety in mind always.
I am absolutely blown away at this car.
It is all that I expected.

This is going to be my whole life now,
except when I gotta do that thing.......like go to my day job.

This is not just purchasing a charger.
This has turned into a CAPITAL investment.

I opened up a DBA today, looking forward to going public on 12 April.
I started a website www.maltfalcon.com
you might want to know what the heck I am doing

but, I have a plan.
Tommorrow I will take all the first wave pictures.
I will have to figure out how to post them here.

For me to build this charger to the extremes that are needed,
I must take extra-ordinary steps.

Hear me now, believe me later.
I also got me a location for my shop.
Right now it is just a piece of property with a workshop and a concrete
pad.

I found out that the tires are modern day because the original ones(43 years old) were flat and deterieorated.

The Cragar S/S mags were in the corner of the barn, waiting, for 43 years for me.

Anyway, dont lose faith in me
or think I am too crazy.
Not yet, just be patient.
The first step has been a success, I got the car.
Now to start the work.

DMV-blah-blah-blah

Ok, another Step one-
I am off to the DMV for tags/title and then get some sort of insurance.
My plan is to restore this car and make it the showcase
Hopefully, I can be so successful they will have me in a that 100 year old man Dodge commercial jumping creeks like the good boys of Hazzard county.(he-he-he).Cant wait for the first show like a prize kennel show.
She will get the Blue Ribbon of her class.
I have no intention of ever selling this car, but, hopefully I can generate enough interest in the Company I have started to provide for that end game.
Soon I will post the first segment of the YOU-TUBE documentary series.
It will show the arrival and unloading of the car, also the commentary.
I gotta retrieve the "Build Sheet" and safely process into archive storage of the Providence items. I will video and post that process too.
One good thing is I have a good friend who owns 1970, I have been looking over his shoulder as he has restored his for over+/-20 years.
I was under the other day he was showing me the six places to check numbers. It is such a nice car and he has restored it perfectly.
But its his car, his daily driver, absolutely no garage queen. When he gets a small dent or scratch he just considers it collateral battle damage for driving it everyday whether to go to work or go to Virginia and back.
Anyway, the most valuable asset I have is time, and I am spending it here, so..........off I go.

Number One Associate

Cowboy Bob,
I appreciate your feedback.
With my new Company and my only two employees(Thor and Sheba my dogs) they give limited feedback except my boy,Thor, whenever I start typing on the keyboard he jumps on my back and digs his paws in.
He is a very large dog and will not tolerate being ignored.(he-he).
Anyway, DMV went good, and since I am not yet a "J-Leno" household name, I decided to keep my GoPro camera off my head when walking into the DMV. Its best not to draw attention, makes the process sometimes complicated. They always have a roadblock in one way or another when you try to get things done. Most went good, got a new title, tried to get them to post the miliage on the new title, but, here in Florida they just put exempt. Then when I tried to get a tag, she saw my Ins. Id card showed expired. I told her its good, same policy for years, but, all I got was my Title, Registration and she made me sign a document telling me not to drive the Charger. Which is a no-brainer. From there I went to my insurance guy wizard, he was blown away at the whole deal. He is working on a policy to cover the car in the stages of restoration, starts out fully insured up to 25000 then progresses as the car becomes more valuable.
You know how resourceful car thieves can be, and even though I got it at my "shop" I still worry. Soon I am going to snaek a LOJACK transponder in her, but, until then, tomorrow when I lift her up on the jackstands, I am going to chain the jackstands to the undercarriage.
See some thief try to move her anywhere then.
Of course I am a worry wart, and there is not much chance of that happening.
Finally on my way home, I stopped by and did a large volume picture take.It is what is is, but, overall I am very pleased in the condition.Again, I have plenty of work to do.
I found another piece of "Providence", a registration slip back to the early seventies with his name and a date on it.
Still setting up all operations, gotta tool up, another not so cheap adventure.
In the preparation of everything, for all I have done, I am yet to pick up a wrench.
But, ProperPlanningPreventsPoorPerformance.
Talk to you all soon, pics on the way.

I love your enthusiasm. Saying your keeping it a long time is making it a part of your family, I like that. I'm not too keen on those who are just in it for the resale profit, I think it takes away from the true love of the hobby. You will need love and patience just like any family member, dogs for sure, I know.

This Charger is SPECIAL

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is a very special venture. If I succeed it will be to Honor the memory

I have taken a very special obligation to this car.
I graduated high school, and the car sat silent, I joined the military and traveled the world, and the car sat silent. I lived a full life and have lived long and prospered, and the car sat silent.
Like a horse that has lost its master, it sat and it sat and it sat.
Until I came along.
God give me the Wisdom and the Grace to complete this journey,
I will give it my all to bring this little sleeping beauty back to LIFE.
And if it dont rain too much, and the creek dont rise,
these United States will have another Legend for all time.
Its not about money, I will find a way to restore, preserve and honor
this Charger and cant wait till I make the ride of a lifetime
from one end of Rt 66 to the other.
If I succeed, I may build many more like her.
But, this one is mine, you can offer me the world,
but no thanks, just let my company prosper and I will be happy.
Stay tuned and watch the journey, see the transformation
at www.maltfalcon.com.
Just loaded some of the pics I got so go check them out
on my website. And remember, its still in construction with a full fledged launch scheduled for 12April 2015.

The Hook Set

Yeah, like evryone(most everyone) when I spoke of this hootandannie
Charger situation.........everybody laughed.

Even my own personnel mechanic differed me to someone else.

Well, the shoe has dropped. Now that they see this is the real dilieoo
everyone is interested, especially my mechanics Dad, who like me grew up with the 1970 Charger, and he owns the garage that his Son has.(my personal mechanic).
Networking and associates is my best advantage to succeeding in this endeaver. Because this is way out of my league and I got to rely on other people actually doing the work and learning from all that knowledge is here on this site.

Today I chained the Mags to the car, first blood, scratched my arm and my blood flowed, and I got plenty of grease on me from the charger, so I guess we bonded.

Thanks Cowboy Bob......is that engine available???

I woke up this morning. which is all I ask for, and I started thinking, which as you know is dangerous.
I started to second guess myself because one of the last expenses I paid yesterday was to some sort of credit company, Dan and some sort of street.
It was a payment of $1000 for this company to use my company records and monitor things so that down the road, I can show good credit.
I thought to myself, geee, your taking things too far.
I actually called(sent them an email) and said I wanted to cancel the payment, Lord knows, BOB, I am not J Leno.Buy the way, if anyone can contact J.Leno, tell him to check out my website-
www.maltfalcon.com
But, after careful thought and the old saying watch what you wish for,
if I am going to be successful, I need Dan and his company.
If I am not going to succeed,
then just call me KOWASKI.
For you young pups, google the movie about a Dodge Challenger,
VANISHING POINT.

Go with throttleup

Yep, trying to get a hold of Wolf Blitzer to follow me like in the movie "Vanishing Point" but, of course, not like in the movie, I hope my brakes work before I get to the bulldozers.
Anyway, I tried to post to make an album to put up, but, I ran into problems with what was called a security token?????
Then I noticed the advertizing going on at the top of the screen. So, I told mty staff to call the company and set up to get some of the same. Unfortunately, I forgot my chief of marketing is a dog and could not speak, so I called them myself. That is all pending.
Anyway, I will keep you all posted.

Moving right along until...............

what if.......
What if I "build it..and they dont come".
At least I have you Cowboy Bob.
And soon I will be flying my flag here in the advertizing.
Thats all I need.
Mopar forum and one fan.
Yes er reee Bob. I have not even started.
12 April my company officially begins.
I have yet to list what I will do.
Lets forget about the Charger for a minute.
First thing I got to do is generate some investment capital.
I got a little less then three years to succeed.
So, what do I consider a success.
1)Completing this car to the standards that are necessary.
That will mean first taking the Microsoft Project program application and mapping out the complete restoration job.I was sitting at the car today.
I think I will do this, I can always change my mind.
Like I said, I was sitting by my Charger today and what some people may look at and say- "Man that needs a paintjob, bad."
But, I look at the left front fender. There is a rust pattern, two actually.
They look like big tears. When it sat in the barn for those 40 plus years or whatever it was, it must have had two leaks in the barn roof. You can see, after year after year, the raindrops created like a reverves stalagtite pattern. Its called PATINA. You cant duplicate that.Sure, I could put a new paint job over it. I wonder.
But, in the Project file dataset, no matter how I restore it, the paintjob will be the absolute last thing I do.Before that comes the new suspension and brakes and whatevr it takes, to make it safe. Not to go too far off original, any part that has to be upgraded for safety, will be repaired and put in storage safely, such that, in the end, if another owner is involved, he can put the original brakes on..his/her choice.
Just like maybe he/she can put a new paintjob on it.
For now, while I am in the restore process, I am going to secure the PATINA. Stop the rust, replace and build body.
Also, I am going to convert the factory manual into an AUTOCAD data file. That will give a virtual 3D duplicate of the car.Combine that with the Project in the Projectmicrosft dataset, then, I can begin.
Investment capital, thats the only answer.
Unless I start selling classic cars hand over fist,
this will take thirty years instead of three.
Its 22 days to show time.
Keep watching Cowboy, this is going to be good.

It looks like you're raising money for your own personal project regardless of the story behind it. There are a lot of scams going on at any given time and people are going to call you on it. Your car has a cool story and I've looked at you website and until you put more information up I don't understand the business / personal project blend

The whole thing would make more sense if it was a non profit and the car was auctioned off with the proceeds going to some thing like wounded warrior.

I just need one person to believe in me.
Thankfully, I have Cowboy Bob here on the MoparForums.

Ok, lets keep talking.

I just sent WWP a message.
Hopefuully I can talk to them tomorrow.
Lets not get the carriage before the horse here.
I have got to get this car going first, so enuff talk about my business plans.
For the moment.

Kind of shocked me when I put that
161627134324
number into my broweser.
Seems that the WHOLE planet is watching what I write
letter by letter, word for word.

My expert adviser, The Norwegian(aka) said that I should take
PB Blaster and get underneath to begin attacking the rust, he also
said I should get a brush and bucket and start coating the rust with oil.
I dont want to make a ticking explosions though.
Any tips or ideas on how to immediately address the rust situation.

I tried to be objective, you should realize that by putting information out without having all the answers lined up in row you're open to founded criticisms which can have affect on future funding opportunities. The public has become very leery, if it doesn't look right it probably isn't, especially on the internet.
