mitsubitchy put in its place

had my dart out lsat nite just cruising around i was sitting at a stop lite when this young kid pulled up next to me in a mitsubitchy and stopped now he sits there reving his motor i had to laugh it sounded like a weed eater on steroids the lite turns green and he takes off like e bat out of hell well at least as fast as his mitsubitchy would let him go well we get up to the next lite and he sits next to me again reving his little matchbox up again well now it was getting annoying so i look over at my wife and she says go ahead if you feel the need well needless to say i felt the need the lite turned green and i lite them up well at the next lite we were suppose to be side by side but he stopped at the rear of my car so i did the only thing i could and put my car in reverseand lined up even with his car and for some odd reason he looked straight ahead and no reving the lite turns green and the little mitsubitchy slowly creeps away from the lite and gets behind me the rest of the way down the road just wanted to share

It's unfortunate that a lot of kids now a days think that they can race anything with their imports and win. They truely have no repsect for the classics.

Gents -

Still more fun to sit next to them, rev your engine a few times and watch them take off when the light changes, while you're still sitting at corner. Too bad they didn't see the cop parked around the corner ...

BTW - In my neck of the woods, a "speed" contest on public roads is grounds for immediate vehicle confiscation. No, I'm not kidding

Wow! Vehicle confiscation seems pretty harsh! No street racing for me. It is just too easy for something to go wrong and get someone killed which would change your life forever (and not for the better). If I feel the need for speed, I'll go to the track.

Things sure got mean quick thats for sure, my daughter was just saying in Ontairo where she lives 50 km over is a stunt driving charge, up to a 10k fine + the ticket ($16 a km over) a street racing charge if another car is involved & they impound the car on the spot for a week min. + loose your DL for 30 days (working) - then the insurance companys want 8 to 15k up front just to give you a policy for a year. Large amount of 16 year olds killing people with their fart boxes a few years ago here so the man steped in and beefed up the laws, can't blame them like 67 said go to the track and be safe.

My neighbor's kid, 18 at the time, and driving his first new car, an Accura, noticed I was getting ready to take my old Fury out for a spin asked to come along. Making small talk, he mentioned that he heard that these old cars used to be real fast. About a mile later we entered a country lane with no one around. I stopped the car, sat for a second or two and told him to hang on. Lifting my foot off the brake I punched the accelerator and that Holley 750 started sucking air. Engine revved, tires screaming, back end moving sideways he was pinned in the seat. He said very little on the way back. The first thing he did was reach to his left ear with a shaky hand for the smoke he had stashed there. I just smiled and told him it was on the back seat. My smile never left my face all day.

Best advice I've heard today!!!!!!!! Run them hard and run them fast but only at the track!!!!!!

From what I've heard, that's why the law was enacted. Someone was (several actually). But I haven't tried to confirm it.

Excuses kids these days use when you tell them "Lets take it to the track":

"It cost too much": Well it costs a whole lot less than a street racing ticket.

"People will laugh at me if I screw up or break something": Well, thats life!

"I'll have to wait around for my turn to race", or "I don't have that much time": Well, it will take a lot more time while your waiting for your parents to bail you out of jail. Also, Don't screw around if you don't have the time to back it up!

"I don't need a track to race and beat you!" or " To know I am better/faster than you" : Well, yes you do if your gonna race me and prove it.

"Your just too chicken to race me out in the real world": Well, yes and no. Yes if it involves possible killing someone or myself out on the streets and No if you take it to the track!

Good to know you shut down that Japanese piece of plastic.

Be careful though, I've heard (maybe only in some places) that if you are caught street racing (what they believe to be street racing) , they take your car and crush it. That would be a shame.

If somebody tries that again, you should just look over, laugh, and not race them, knowing you would smoke them. I bet that would frustrate them.

Oh, and by the way, your Dart is a beauty!

lol thats cool, times sure are diffrent with the amount of cars on the road today - we use to go right in the middle of Manhatten no prob because in 1955 there was only 200 cars in New York not the 200 million there is now lol, and they weighed so much you were luck to get into second gear .... Ahhh memories .... french fries, fast cars and 7 cent fuel ....

There was some law about that in So-Cal. Mostly because kids had stolen parts in their hondas and acuras.

If you raced a Lancer, you'd kill it. An Evo... he shouldve kept up with you. Evos run low 13s stock. And the AWD launchs like a bat out of hell

I also don't street race. I tell people to bring their crap to the track. Most kids my age don't have a car faster then mine. But beware.... I've seen some pretty sleeper imports..

as much as i would LOVE to say all ricer stuff is slow, sadly there not. i don't like defending them but i have to give credit where credit is do.

my friend Justin has a 1992 Plymouth laser (at least its mopar). it has a little turbo 2.0 5 speed. sounds gay i know, but that thing is ******* fast! it flys. the thing is, this kid you raced probably bought that mitsubitchy car and knows nothing about it. when someone researches ricers, and does all that dumb electronic mumbo jumbo, they can be fast.

also, he isn't ricing out this car. he isn't putting a 5in tip, underglow, and a body kit. no mater what it looks stupid, but at least he isn't making it worse.

i am glad you beat that kid. maybe just maybe common sense got drove into his brain. even if you have a fast ricer you cant beat a mopar

ill be honest when i was young my freinds and i used to race. the fastest ive gone was around 130/135 my speedometer went to 120 but the needle was past it a bit. that was my 78 dodge diplomat. 318 2bbl. that thing would move for a stock 2bbl. eat my friends monty 350 4bbl no problem. 5.0's light to light, raced a 67 455 buick wildcat on a 4 lane hwy. that is when i got too 130/135 stayed next too him the whole way. i never thought about deer/kids when i was younger. but now that i have kids of my own i think about it all the time and how dumb it was. of course their was half the traffic too.

Having kids is the changing point for everyone I think, me for sure - that when you start to think do I have enough road to pass this guy without a head on crash with the farm truck ahead .... use to love making a car with a 150 mph speedo prove it deserves it !! ..... and on bias tires to boot lol

My bad.. for some reason i thought i read Lancer somewhere? All i know is them damn Evo's will rape a crap load of other cars off a launch.. Even STI's.

Although, I perfer STI's, they sound better.

Jake -

I believe they are auctioned off. There was one story where a particularly "hot" car was kept by one of the local PDs and used as a highway chase car, after it was repainted.

I'm getting this info second hand and will hopefully never find out personally.
