motor help !!!!

motor help !!!!

i have a 440 .60 over with a mild cam holley 780 vac ..........it seems like it is doggin on power i have new plugs wires and everything but i cant get it to stop running rich i have try screwin with the carb but i just dont know, so i have come to you guys to help me ........should i cant my timing and if so what should my timing be set at plz help thanks nate

If you have a cam in it I would try about 10-12 degrees of initial advance.
Try to limit the total mechanical {no vacuum advance} to 34-36.

Play with the timing some as the smoother the motor runs, the more power she will make faster.

What octane gas are you running?

i been running 89 because 93 lil expensive and i have no job i was laid off so i still try to run a high octane...

I agree w/ hyper, if you arent familiar w/ a holley maybe have a wrenchin buddy dial it in for you, theyre nto that hard to figure out ounce someone shows you how.
