I've had a 70 Dodge Superbee well documented with plate and documents for awhile. It's a very good looking survivor from NMex. I took the original 440 4bbl out and put in a freshly built 440. Some things came up that made me abandon the project but I'm ready to begin again. It's an auto car.

I'd like some advice. Would I be better off restoring it and putting in a Hemi or a 6 pack motor with hood or should I put the original 440 back in it? The interior is nice but the instruments need restoring IMO. They aren't bad they just don't look new.

if you can drive it around and is in fair coditon its worth around 10 to 15 k. show room condition around 40 k thats if your trying to buy one from a collector. as far advice it will allways be worth more with the original engine.

 

Thanks for the advice. I see 'recreations' and 'tributes' of this car (plumcrazy) going for $90k (before the recession hit big time). Is that not true anymore? I'm not interested in making a bunch of money on the car. I'm going to keep it and pass it on to a kid. I've always wanted a 6 pak car with the shaker hood since passing up on a new 70 Cuda years ago. (shoot self). I don't want to mess the car up as it truly is a gem but I thought if I made just those changes I'd have the car I want and even enhance the value. I'm already storing the original engine. Did they make a Hemi 6 Pak at one time?

 

the 426 hemi was never offerd with a 6 pak. single 4 and duel 4bbl

 

I don't know all the years the car was offered with two 4s but I think the single 4 bbl was standard fare. I think some people would take the 2 fours off and put a bigger carb on but I've just heard that. I hear a lot but don't always know how accurate it is. Why I'm here.

 

i cannot find my book with the years of a single 4bbl hemi. for street use. 64,65,66 a single 4bbl was used in street stock and nascar. maby other years too. ill keep digging for my mid 60's motors manual!
