No Spark!! I Need Help!

So i just started to reassemble my 318 engine after a top end rebuild and everything is finally assembled and I turn the key, It sounds like its turning over but i checked for spark and there wasnt any spark. I noticed the positive wire hooked up to the battery was really hot and glowed red when i turned it over. Then the ground wire from the battery to the engine sparked. I took it off the engine and sanded and made sure there was good connection. Im not sure if it fixed the positive wire issue but it still didnt spark. What does this sound like? There are a few wires that arent connected that im not sure if they were connected before. Ill post pictures of them.

Heres the engine. Everything isnt hooked up in this picture. No Spark!! I Need Help!-engine.jpg

This is a wire that was behind my coil. Im not sure what its supposed to attach to but i feel like it may be my problem. No Spark!! I Need Help!-wire1.jpg

This is the wire is running along the passenger side up to the condenser. One of the wires looks like it got clipped. Is it important? No Spark!! I Need Help!-wire2.jpg

This is a wire right under the coil. Its green with a brown female end. Does this go with the wire from the second picture??No Spark!! I Need Help!-wire3.jpg

Any help would be appreciated!

What are we workin on? Is this your namesake, a '74 RR?

What colors are the wires (I can see the blue, not the others)

Do all the wires, especially the one held in your fingers appear to be out of the factory harness, IE not added by someone?

What ignition are you using, Mopar breakerless, aftermarket, MSD, etc?

Yep 74 roadrunner. I dont know what the previous owner. The ignition is a mopar electronic distributor, the original it came with. The engine ran fine before I swapped out the intake and heads. Im thinking I may have wired up something wrong when i put it all back together but I dont know where to start.

The one under the coil is a blue/green with a brown end.
The wire running to the condenser is a tannish brown.

Im not sure if they are factory. How can i tell?

Could it be the ignition module is not grounded properly due to paint on engine? Ill check that tomorrow.

The brown single connector with two dark blue hooked to it might be the original choke heater wire. See if it comes on /off with key in run / off

The one you have in your fingers, cannot tell what color? That does not appear to be a factory end connector. Is the oil sender hooked up?

How do I test it? With a ohm meter?

The one in my fingers is a gray/white color.

Where is the oil sender?

to test the distributor. get an analog meter. set it to the lowest ACV setting. put the meter wires into the two wires from the distributor, order not important. spin the distributor. if the distributor is good the needle will move a little. not much just a little. new idea added 7.19.13 my tests was by spinning the dist by hand. if it is turning by the engine of a drill motor it might show high voltage as much as 5 v. i have NOT done that test.

Okay so there is still no spark... The new control module, coil, and distributor are hooked up but there is no spark. Either that or my spark tester is broken. What are the possibilities that it might be?
