Power steering went out on 2013 Ram 1500 4wd with 5.7. Replaced belt within rack and pinion but no help. Ordered new one thru dealership and being told on back order. Has been 3 months now. Can I replace with used one off other vehicle and have programmed to mine. Being told no but something has to give. Suggestions?

 

as long as it is not a " Drive by wire" you should be able to replace it without issue.....
Check to see if your local parts house (Napa Auto Parts) can get you a remanufactured unit.

 

It kinds of explains something that is happening to my reconditioned steering rack. But hard to explain via text. Here goes when it's in the center and if you want to turn left or right you have to push on it real hard.
