Restoration shop recommendations

I live in NW Florida. Panama city beach. I have a 71 challenger I want to get rotessired and painted. Has anyone had any work done in the southeast that they were happy with? Has anyone every taken anything to Counts Customs in Vegas? I am tired of fooling with this car and getting poor work and work that doesn't work. I just want to pay someone to straighten out all the little problems and paint the car. I would like to drive it some before I die. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even the snarky ones.

Welcome to the site Kevin.... Have you talked some of your local car show guys.... Hit up a few car shows....Look over some mopars and get the mane of those guys if the folks are happy with what the car looks like...

But if your up for a long drive Hodges Mopars up in Inman SC puts out some nice work....

I found the link.... My brother had some work done there some years back and was happy with it. Just food for thought...

Within a 1000 miles would be nice. That pretty much covers from Miami to Tenn. But I have come to the conclusion I might have to ship it across the country. There are only mustang and corvette clubs within a 100 miles of where I am at. Been to a couple of car shows over the years, mostly people do themselves or a shop located a long distance away. Talked to one guy and his 67 mustang was done in Mexico. It looked nice, but I think the sparkle in the paint was a pound of coke mixed in the paint. Just kidding. But was surprised to see it look so nice. I have been building a restomod with a 522 stroker in it and a 5 speed tremec. Have had lots of problems with it vibrating. Would like to get someone that has done the trans conversions.

I am Sure you could find someone in the area to do the paint and body...
I could ask a few connection, But I think its going to be down in the Lakeland, Orland, Fort Lauderdale, area's... I'll as around and see what i get back for you to check into...

As for the Vibration.... Those Tremec deals are a good thing !!
Not sure why you would have a vibration in the that trans?
Are you sure the Motor is not the part that has the vibration in it?

Give us a little history on it.... Glad to help out if we can....

I have replace the motor, flywheel, clutch assembly, rebuilt the trans, bought 3 drive shafts and had all balance more than once, new Strange 60 rear end. I have been fooling with it for 10 years. I drive to a shop and back and to a shop. I got probably 70k in this car. I am 60 so if I am ever to drive it, better get going. Hell we have our house under contract to sell and going use the part of the profits to do it.

Ok...I got a shout out to some folks down that way... I'll let you know what comes back....

So you replaced all that stuff and it still has a vibration?
Is the vibration only while moving? Or is it when it is just in Park?

I've been to PCB several times for Emerald Coast Cruizin and there was a rod shop across the bridge in Panama City that used to host one of the cruise-ins during the show, wish I could think of it off the top of my head. Should be in the directory if they're still around. Also ran into a guy down there in 2014 who had just gotten a ground up resto finished on his '67 Barracuda, he was from Destin and had it done locally. Stunning car, may be worth checking into.

I have found one shop in Panama City called SSR but I don't anyone who has had any work done there. I am hoping someone from this area might be on this forum and could give some first hand knowledge. I want to get it done and not let it sit for 2 years.

Check it out.... see how the time line looks for getting it done... Check some of there references... I'm sure they must have some...
You might even draft up a contract.... If they dont meet the deadline you get paid.... If they finish early. they get a bonus.... or something along those lines.
But first you have to find a shop that you think you can deal with.... That's a must..
