This car was ordered new by my step Great Aunt new in December of 1969, when it arrived her nephew my Step-Father was working at the dealership in Chattanooga, TN where it was delivered. he did the dealer prep work on the car and all the maintenance work over the years. The only wrenches to touch this car have either been in mine or his hands since it left the factory. It was a factory California car and the only way she could get the options that she wanted was to get the California model, so she ordered it. Once it hit Chattanooga, the Step-Dad pulled the intake and carb off, stored them away and replaced them with something a little less troublesome. he still has the factory carb and intake by the way. The engine is a 318 with a 904 and a 7-1/4 rear end, with a 2.76 gear ratio. No the car won;t get out its on way, but once it's rolling she moves pretty good, but has only moved about 76,000 miles since that December day in 1969. It still has the original interior and wore the original paint up until it died on her one morning when she was going to get her hair done and she ran into a block wall wrinkling the right front fender and headlight bucket. My step-Dad and I replaced and painted the fender and replaced the headlight bucket. The original engine/transmission is out of the car as well as the original rear end and put up safe, it currently has a 360 mated to a 727 and a 8-3/4 rear with 3.55 sure grip. It is a hoot to drive and cruise around in.
