I spent all last week with my graphic designer on the paint.. I have it almost nailed down. I'm still working on the 43 thing... I have had several ideas thrown around but nothing that jumps out at me.... But sooner or later it will... Just have to be patient... Seems this is the norm for this project.... Nothing can happen fast or when you think its supposed to... But it does happen but not in my time frame... So, I'll wait till its supposed to happen........

There wouldn't have been any correspondence with MR.43 for some "old left-over" Petty blue has there?

67 GTX, more to do than Mopar did... First of all had to install approved roll cage. This is depending on what class you run. Stock eliminator is different than Super Stock.. I'm in Stock so a Chrome Molly cage per NHRA rules that will allow me to go under 10 seconds. The independent rear that comes in the Chally has to come out and be repleced with a solid axel rear. IE Dana 60. W/ custom axels, Richmond Pro 4:88 gears and a alumn spool... Once that is done the car is ready for paint if that is your choice.. I am... On the link is a sneak peak of the paint... Then you have to re-assemble the car and then its wiring and plumbing.. You see the car has no brake lines, just a master cylinder and a pedal.... Then you have to install the fuel cell... 5 gal... No gas tank... then its plumb the fuel lines from the cell to the EFI.... Then wire the whole car.. the stock wiring is in the trunk in two large boxes but it weights too much you either harvest wires from the stock harness or you use a complete system as I am doing... I'm using the K&R switch panel and relay card for all the car wiring. You don't need that many circuits in a race car.... Then you have to install and wire and tune the EFI computer... Once all this is done its off to the dyno and tune it all with a laptop and then to the track and make a lap or two... I'm expecting over 600 hours of labor and love in this before I get it running... Other than that its a piece of cake!!!!!!

if you have to do most of the work, why did it take so long to be ready?

About the time this project was to begin Chrysler went into bankrupcy. The plug was supposed to be pulled two times during this time... Engineers kept working on it but it was offically dead... But they just kept working... Finally they got approval to proceed. But since the first planning stages three or four of the project managers were retired. Either voluntary or not but they were gone. By the time the next got up to speed he was gone... I personally talked to three of them my self.. It was very strange. You call and ask for a person by name and they tell you he no longer works for Chrysler.. Then you ask for the head of the Drag Pak Project and you are told that program is dead.. Here we go again... It was just a wait and see 14 months. I'm very suprised it made it thru. I would not have bet a nickle on it....... But I'm very proud ot have one of them for sure... It will be a piece of Mopar history for sure......
