I decided to ditch the 2bbl stromberg and install a new 600 cfm edelbrock carburetor matched with a weiand aluminum intake. The engine looked horrible when I first bought the car, so my dad and I went ahead and repainted the engine and the engine bay! Here is our progress so far!

Thanks for all the compliments guys, at least now I can open the hood without embarrassment! I bought mopar paint through jegs.com Its just spray bombed but I think it looks good! We did sand blast the valve covers and thoroughly degreased the engine so I think the paint will hold.

 

They always look better with a 4BBL bolted on them mate

 

I agree with you there! I was really excited to get it put on, I can't wait to see if I can feel the difference too!!
