Seats arrived. Steering column finally set. Finishing off steering linkage, new brake booster, rough wiring to check all systems. Bit of finishing up on cab and front end. Shop hopes to be able to remove everything and start bodywork in about 2 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed and cheque book full...lol

Colours already chosen. Deep green...hunter or military. Same colour as the gauges posted above. Fenders and running boards will be black.

Do you have some BIG wheels and tires picked out?

I haven't quite made a final decision on the wheels. I have it narrowed down to two different rims. For tires, I will probably be going with a Hankook that is snow rated so I can run them all year. Will either be a 35 or a 37. As it gets nearer to completion the tirest guy will come to the shop to see which will fit the best.

Frustrations. Should be used to them by now. Incorrect parts for steering linkage arrived and had to be sent back. Correct ones finally arrived this morning, along with new brake booster. Sorry for the crappy pic. Gas tank somewhere west of Spokane in transit. All in all, another weeks delay.
Exchange rate is a killer. Our dollar seems to drop every time I start a project. Killer when you have to add roughly 25% to the price of parts you can't get in country. Name plates ordered at $195 a piece. Need five of them. But a huge backlog so could be months. Won't stop me from driving it though.

Very nice welding (zoomed in). Hunter green for sure!
I watched Barrett Jackson and was shocked at the huge dollars these trucks sold for.
We name all our trucks, how about you and this one?

Hahaha....no I don't have a name for her yet. My ex girlfriend calls her Petunia. I was thinking maybe Overdraft.....lol.
Barret Jackson has become such a blight for those of us trying to restore old vehicles.

Despite the delays, which are to be expected on something like this, progress is happening. All steering linkage finally in place. Fenders are being properly aligned today as they are used and a little bit out of whack. Gas tank arrived. Crossmember needs to be moved in order for tank to fit as this is not the original frame.
Box and doors are ready for bodywork. Fenders and hood should be ready for bodywork soon. not too much to do on them. The major bodywork will be on the cab.

Progress has slowed to a crawl the last week and a half. Time consuming work being done on cab in preparation for drip rails. Slow...but it needs to be done. A previous owner had tried some welding...lots of brass to remove.
Had a couple of videos, but the file size seems to be too large to upload...so just some stills again.

Right hand door drip rail in. Left ready to be welded. Shop tells me they have about 5 or 6 hours work left on cab before prep work can start for paint on entire body. Keeping my fingers crossed as there always seems to be something that crops up. But definitely close now.

Truck build is on hold for now. Terrible accident this weekend. One of the lead guys on the truck was hit on his motorcycle. He is in pretty bad condition in the hospital. Lost a leg. Spent time with the owner of the shop today and told him not to worry about my truck. Bigger, more important issues to deal with. He has no family here. All he could talk about from his bed was getting my truck done. What a guy. Dedicated as hell. Truck will get done eventually...right now more important things are on the docket. Prayers for my man Dennis.

Some good news. Was just at the bodyshop talking with the owner. Dennis is doing well, all things considered. He lost a leg and the other one is all pinned up. Knee operation coming up. There will be months of rehab, but he will be able to work again at what he loves and does so well. His job is waiting for him when he is ready.
The shop moved fast and hired another guy who also does excellent work. They will be starting up again on my truck next week. When all is said and done, I'll have some pics of the finished product with all the guys who worked on it, especially Dennis. It's as much his truck as it is mine.

Dennis is doing great, all things considered. Won't be too long before they ship him home. Friends of his are doing renos to his house to make it easier for him to get around.
New guy started up work on the truck again. Finished off replacing the lower door. Just a couple of small holes to fill on cab and door. Rad was placed for a final check of positioning.
Two small sections to repair on box.
Really, really, really, really close to being able to start on prep for paint. I know I keep saying that and something always manages to crop up. But I gotta believe...lol
