Dakota R/T wheels
Dakota R/T wheels
Is there a source, besides Dodge, that I can get a set of 17" R/T wheels? I am considering a 3" lift for my truck, and like the look of the 17" R/T wheels over my stock 15" ers. I'm looking at IIRC 255-70/17 tires...with a bit of an off road profile. That will give me the 31" tall tire I have now, and should keep the speedo in check.

3" lift per suspension or body? The 31s will look small either way. I would step up to a 33 if posible.
As for a source for the RT wheels, I'm not sure. I am sure that there are plenty of wheels out there that look a lot like the RT wheel though.

I haven't found much of anything in the way of aftermarket wheels for the Dakota. I keep hearing the same thing. The Dakota has an odd bolt pattern. So, What I have found, is about $600, but can't seem to find the website again...It's just a matter of time before i find it again...
But, I have found a site that has them for about $215 each....I'l keep looking...
So, the big question now, what do I need to change in the mix to keep the speedo, and computer from freaking out. After finding out how to lift my truck, that will be the net big issue.

The bolt pattern is 6 on 4.5" or 6 on 5" (can't remember).
As far as the speedo goes, that is read off the rear diff. You can change the gears front/rear to compensate for the larger tire or you can get a speedo-tuner that will correct the readout. I think all you need to do is tell it what ratio and tire size you have.
Most Dakota 4x4 trucks came with 31s already. What does the sticker inside the driver's side door say?
