Hello all,

I'm new to the site and to MOPAR as well. I recently acquired a set of wheels and tires for what I THINK will fit a MOPAR. The pictures will be the best description, all I can say is that the wheels are 15" in diameter, have a 5 bolt pattern, and a distinctive center cap design. Also, the tires are Goodyear Polyglas; they look quite old, perhaps 30 years plus... that may help as well. I appreciate the help!

Looks like late '70's early 80's imperial

 

70s-80s Chrysler or AMC Rebel Machine, But with the Chrysler logo on them I'd say Chrysler.

 

Take the large chrome trim ring off, install a smaller one and remove the trim piece around the center cap and I bet you would have a good Ralley wheel look-a-like.

 

Didn't the early 70's Chrysler's use those wheels?

I think they were sort'ha the C barge complement to Rally wheels. I kinda like 'em.

Early 70's C-barge was my first thought, but then I saw the part number and it screams late 70's early 80's

 

My '76 NYer came with the these rally rims from the factory as an option, but so did my uncles '76 d-100.

 

Yes and on Trucks too all the way up until 79 on Chrysler 300. If you look up a Hurst Chysler they will have them.

those rims are ridiculous what are they like 40 inch rims...lol

 

How come I can see through the rims on the driver side but not the passenger side?

And to the origanal question, as mentioned, they were on trucks and C's from the early 70's. By the late 70's they were on Cordobas and maybe the Chargers as well.

 

The centers make them 73 -76 Chrysler, Dodge or Plymouth C Body "Road Wheels". The pic above shows the 70 - 72 centers.

 

Never really looked but once you mentioned the years I looked closer and I see the difference. The older ones do look a little like AMC centers. I have a set of AMC 14"ers and they look just like these.

 

I've had a few 1978-79 Magnum GT's with those same centers and they also came on the 1978 Apsen/Volare Super Coupes!

The 1979 Chrysler 300's came with the same type of rims shown in the first post but were not stamped steel like those, they were stamped aluminum! Also was an available option on the 1979 Dodge Magnum's.

Here is a wheel from a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst with the same rim but slightly differend cap on the same center!


You see this wheel type for quite a few years, they were very popular! Good looking rims! In 1979 they added a trim ring that covered the slots and the centers were replaced with very thin aluminum ones. Here is a picture of them for the 1979 300:
