1984 D100 Slant six probs

I have a 1984 D100 with a 225 slant six with a 1b holley 1945. The truck will start and warm up but when it is warm it begins to idle kinda rough then dies. It will stay running if I'm giving it gas but as soon as I let off it dies right away. It will then have trouble restarting or not restart at all. Any suggestions?

Does it start up after its cooled back down? It could be a vacuum leak that only appears once items have warmed up and started to expand. Have you done any work to it lately?

RE: 1984 D100 Slant six problems

It's possible, however I have tested the vacuum while the engine is running with adequate vacuum. However these problems started after the carb was rebuilt by a noob.

Sounds like the carb is running out of fuel, float issue. rickyr on here is a tech got Holley. I'm sure if you hit him up, he'll be able to walk you through fixing it better than I ever could.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The choke does work.

I have an 1984 D100 and I had an issue where it would start and run good until it would warm up then it would stall and not start until it cooled off. It ended up being that the coil would get hot and shut the engine down. I bought another "stock coil" and it did the same thing. I had to buy a more powerful coil. That fixed that issue. But of course I still have others.
