2bbl on a 4bbl intake

I just got a brand new holley 2300 2bbl today at a garage sale and was wondering if any1 here has ever put a 2bbl on a 4bbl intake? i have seen it done to meet racing requirements for some circle track racing. i have the 4bbl intake and the adapter plate to mount a 2bbl to it i was just wondering if i still needed to modify the throttle and kickdown linkage to make it fit to this carb? my carter 2bbl is dumping gas horribly right now and i dont want to rebuild it and the holley will not fit my 2bb intake. the holley is also a higher air flow model. so ill put this in until i can find a 4bbl i can afford.

You might have to come up with a little bit of fab work to make the linkages work, but it should work for you.

I've seen people install 2 barrel carbs on 4 barrel intakes before. Never really understood it though. If it works and its what you can afford, then do it.

well i know someone that races circle track and he has to run a 2bbl carb. he runs a 500 2 bbl on a 302 and uses a 4bbl intake because it lets it flow better.
