413 or 440 ?

i was talking to my mechanic about my oil preesure issue and found that i have an oil leak coming from some where,i still think it's the manafold gaskets but he dsnt think so n dsnt want to pull the whole engine apart of he's not sure thats it. so he he suggested i look for another engine to start putting togather cuz my 318 is on it's last legs.

so i found a 413 out of an RV with a ttranny for 500 bucks. it needs to be totaly rebuilt. and it's a low compression engine so i could put the blower and all that fun stuff on the polara like i was thinking about before.

and i found a few 440 blocks on craigs list.
so what i'm really asking is, woul dit be better to just get the 413 or get a 440 block and build it up.

Hard to say, you have this blower dream, but will that become a reality any time soon? I havent looked at you checking account balance, but I think that 2k for a blower and 1k for carbs and accessories are out of your range for a while. 440 and be done with it.

even if the 413 is low compression, you still need to pull it apart if you want to put a blower on it
