64 318 premium
I wouldnt really rebuild it but im sure if you try and sell it some one might want it to put in there original car/truck of that year and if im not wrong it only had about 160 hp so you would have to do some mods to get it up in hp <ijs>
one think you should check. some of these engines had the HD forged crank. If It has eight bolts on the flange of the crank (like a hemi). Called a 318-3 truck crank. If it has this, the crank is worth more than the engine. The strongest crank mopar made for a smallblock. Even stronger than a 340 forged crank. will spin to 9000 rpm's.
The only problem is I am not sure what year they started putting them in trucks.
It will be a forged crank non the less even if it is not the "truck-crank".
If it is the truck crank, its like the holy grail of small block cranks. I guess the only way to tell would be the eight bolt flange.

That's a poly-318 workhorse engine you have...do some research on it....my 68 LA-318 was rated at 230 hp...they put those poly-318's in school buses with gigantic 2-barrel carbs on them...non of the engine parts are interchangable with later year LA-318's
