69 bee 440 six-pack

hi everyone- my concern is a keep running issue. 69 bee 440 with orange box ignition conversion in 85 2 weeks ago it ran ,idled drove perfectly i rolled into my driveway the car quit ! it stopped , starts great does not go to run, I replaced voltage reg and ballast resistor--- same MFing thing happens ideas will be be helpful. plenty of fuel going in. The car sat idle for 34 years and got it going this year. i never had problems with it when i drove it in the 80s until now . i replaced the middle wiring harness earlier this year. the back up lights are on when i hit the light switch and the left turn signal lights up but doesn't blink automatically. hey all ideas are welcome Most Overpowered Powered And Rare THANKS TO ALL

I dont understand? What do you mean it just stopped?
What was the reason you replaced the Voltage reg. and Ballast without knowing if it was bad or not?
And I sure would not have replaced a wiring loom just for this reason !!!!

So you where driving just the other day and it stopped! What did you check?
1. you got fuel at the carb... ok, got it
AND ???????

O.K. I'll try again. it starts normally and fires at first turn of the key. the key goes to run side of switch it immediately stops. i hit the start again the motor fires right up then quits stops running. so i did some research and came across several articles concerning this problem. I have extra ballast resistor and volt reg- switched out those parts and the same thing happens.my son and I rebuilt the center carb on Friday and checked for spark - yes plenty of spark at the start up but no spark after start-up. I put the ohm meter on the ballast resistors and both shows no resistance in them. I don't want to buy a new orange module as this one is new with the center wiring harness. the original wiring harness was all cracked and rot hope that helps thanks

OK... Check the Ignition switch and make sure it has 12+ Volts coming out of the run side of the switch?
You already know it has 12+ volts on the crank side....

Unhappy

Thanks I will do that when I get home. A side note- when I turn on my headlights key in non-start position they function normal. I turn the key to run and my back-up lights turn on I remove one light from the back that one turns off the other side stays lit. I remove both and both turn off . I touch one light to the turn signal mount and both lights turn on. Do I have a open ground on that string of wires....??

Sounds more like a short in the wiring, Too me... But i would rule out faulty grounds at this point.... Back feeding cane be a problem with any Vehicle
