Diaphram clutch adjustment

Just switched my 72 Challenger back to a four speed using a diaphram clutch this time. The large spring is over powering the clutch pedal both directions. Is it possible that I will need to remove the large pedal spring . Is it typical on a diaphram clutch or I'm I missing something?

Sounds like the spring is too heavy... Double check and see if you have the rite spring...
