first check the return spring, it goes from the bell housing to the clutch fork rod. small spring. bout 4 " long. if thats good, then check the adj. rod for the clutch, You may have just burned your clutch down t the point you need to apply more pressure.

I dont know of any threads. i always use the factory repair manual. If your at the back end of the rod, then yes, your out of adjustment. No theres no spring on the z-bar. one end gets the clutch pedal rod, the other end gets the adj. rod.

well....i adjusted the nut on the clutch pedal rod almost to the end and now the clutch pedal comes all the way back up as before ....however the return spring even though it seems to work does not look that great...I will replace it...and now i can get it in gear as before the adjustment i could not while the engine was running.

Hey Pops1967GTX how old is that spring?...the original? I would change it just to eliminate it out of the equation as springs loose there stored energy over time.
