Help on B body upper control arm shaft
In removing the shaft from an upper control arm on my 74 Plymouth Road Runner, the bolt snapped. I was heating the nut and using penatrating oil. Is there a better approach?
Of course the follow up question is, does anyone know if the shafts are reproduced anywhere or is it a junk yard only item?

I think I know what you are talking about but am having a hard time picturing it. Can you post a pic of the broken shaft?
I'm not sure where you'll be able to get another one.

One end of the control arm has the ball joint the other end has the bushings - the shaft I am refering to is what goes into the bushings. Basically it is what holds on the upper control arm. Has a nut on each end. I have heard it referred to as the pivot shaft or pivot bar, control arm shaft or control arm bar. Hope this helps pinpoint it.

are you referring to your upper control arm cam bolts if so you can go to your dealer and or auto parts store and purchase new ones you will just have to take a punch and tap/bang out the old ones and change the bushings and bolts and have the front end aligned , if not please like 78 says can you send a pic for us to look at

p.s do you have a longitudinal torsion bar front suspension , if so is the bar your refering to have two ends which the nuts go on to and have two holes to hold to framework ?
