Main bearing replacement
Yes fist remove the pan and then you can remove all but the last cap , flywheel end, just losen it to the point where you can hang the cap a half inch off the block. The crank will hang on the timing chain in the front and the transmission in the rear. At this point you can start pushing the upper bearing out on the edge that doesn’t have a small tang in it, tha end will need to come out of the block first. I’ve had luck pushing the bearing out with the bottom bearing laid on the crank then rotating the crank. You install the new bearing the same way put it on the crank and then rolling it in with the crank.
