Noob with a fuelish question?

Hope there is no angst but what fuel should I use in my newly acquired '64 Sport Fury? Any additives as well?

Bruce

Regular pump gas and maybe a lead substitute if you can find some. If the engine is stock you don't have hardened seats, although I do not know anyone that has had issues not using it.

what motor does the car have? is the motor worked at all?

these motors were build for having lead in the gas
but i have found that you can get away without having it
basically, just pump up and go enjoy the ride

since it is a stock 318, you should get away with using regular. if it pings, then use the middle grade.

Thanks Rick. I'm crossing my fingers that it gets delivered tomorrow. I'm sure it left Detroit amid that blizzard they had earlier, and now I hear we're expecting foul weather here Friday and Saturday! Oh well at least it's in a covered carrier!

I would run the highest octane we can get here in CA which is 91. We don't have very good fuel here in CA. If it pings, you may need to retard the timing a tad.
