Almost anything from a spec of dirt in the idle circuir in the carb to a blown diode in the alternator. (The last one really surprised me...)

Does it get worse under load (physical or electrical)?

Is it all the time now or does it come and go?

Does it run file as you increase the throttle?

Have to checked the timing yet?

If the dizzy is locked down, a slipped timing chain is possible.

I know nothing about points, but you said the wires and plugs are new, if you have points, did you change those too?

Just a few things off the top of my head.

Yes, the timing could have jumped but, it could be as simple as the condenser went bad. I've had brand new condensers that were bad right out of the box.

On another note you wouldn't happen to be Mr340's son. The one with the little hammer. He will probably for asking.

How many miles on the motor and have you checked the timing yet?

timing is OK and there is about 45000 on the motor. car still runs OK even though its misfiring so i don't think the timing chain jumped. its probably something simple I'm just over looking. i just changed the carb but it wasn't the culprit

And what does the inside of your distributor cap look like? (Are there equal burn tracks on all the terminals?)

You said the wires are new. Did you assemble them and is there a chance of a bad crimp on the wires in question and have to ask this (because I did it once), are you sure the wires in question were fully snapped on the plugs?

so it stands to reason spark at dist and no spark at plug = bad wire or plug

I'm hardly an electrical expert, but if 3 wires are consistently not firing and 5 are, it's gotta be the wire or the connection on either end.

Archer.

Do you know how to find TDC/on compression on cylinder #1? If not, a google search will help. Then check the firing order and rewire the distributor if necessary.

And no, unless you're using a rectifier type dizzy (not even sure if they make them for Mopars, an after market dizzy can't change the firing order.

If the guy who put the dizzy in messed it up, it should have been apparent the first time you tried to accelerate, if not just at idle.
