stroking a 318
stroking a 318
I know many people say just build a 360 but i want to build a 318 stroked with a 360 crankshaft and rods. i was just wondering what else would need to be done with this because the 360 is externally balanced and im not sure how to convert this. this isnt going to be a high power application im just doing it for fun. i got an engine from a 80 lebaron with 43000 miles on it for 100 bucks from the local u pull it and it runs great. i have a set of 302 heads and a set of 360 heads. i want to build this with mostly junkyard parts except for stuff that has to be replaced. Its just a summer project for me and my friend hes building up a 2.4l turbo and i decided to do a stroker engine which will eventually go into a very low budget rat rod.
its a project were each doing for fun. every summer we pick something and then build it. last year i put a 750 cc motorcycle engine in a riding lawnmower with a racing quad rear axle in it. quite fun but im set on building a stroked engine and i already have a spare 318 so actually what i was thinking about is putting the one with 40000 in my fifth ave with ported and polished heads and a 360 2bbl cam and a 4bbl and then stroking my motor.
jesus it seems when you mention stroking a 318 engine everyone thinks you just shot the pope or something. i post on a few other forums besides mopar and ive gotten some pretty rotten responses to them. at least you guys are civilized and usually quite helpful when you offer responses but there are a few other sites that i will no longer visit anymore. thinking of dropping the whole stroker idea because of those A##holes
