Smile uk newbie with a question.

Hi guys,
my name is neil from the uk,i am a long time muscle car fan and i have recently got myself a 72 numbers matching cuda 340 at last !

Well, the first job i have done is to fit a Sony minidisc player into the glove compartment (yes i watch OVERHAULIN) I have wired it straight to the battery with an inline fuse. It works perfectly until you reach about 35mph,when the power shuts down and it goes off.
Strangely, when you slow down again to idle speed,it comes back on again.
I had a similar problem with a 66 mustang i had, when the amplifier unit did exactly the same thing. That was due to the old type mechanical regulator causing a power surge, making the amp protection kick in. so i changed it for a later electronic one.....problem solved!

I think the cuda is fitted with an electronic regulator ,so it cant be that....
.......can it ?

Anyone had a similar problem with the cd going off ?

thanks, Neil.

I have not but then again I usually try to get everything updated so that I don't have to worry about that.

It sounds to me that you have the same problem as you did on your 66.

Hi tim, you could be right.........so i have ordered a new regulator and

will give it a try, it wasnt expensive so no harm done if it doesnt work.
thanks, Cudaneil.

cuda regulator

Hi guys,
Well i fitted a new mopar regulator, and it looks like the problem

has gone away.

So it must have been a fault with the old regulator ! Cudaneil.
