1980's slant 6 to 1964 Car Installment Guide.

First this is meant to be a general Guide to help with installment and not a Question.

Let me give a little back story first.
Bought a 1982 Slant 6 that came out of a Dodge Ram Pickup and had a Manual Transmission behind it. (Slant 6 had been rebuilt. Price I paid $350.00. Transmission not included.)

List of thing that I found out you must change to set down in a 1964 Dodge Dart GT.
1. Oil pan and oil pick up tube. (Oil pan out of truck hits the steering linkage.)
2. Alternator Bracket. (This is the bracket that the Alternator swings on.)
3. Power Steering Bracket. (Same as above.)
4. Flex Plate for Torque converter. (I had to get a universal fit for both slant and V 8's. Cut off excess tabs or starter will get stuck. Also get slightly longer Torque converter bolts with lock washers.)
5. Convert Points distributor to Electronic Ignition.
6. You may have to remove Starter dust shield due to flex plate. I left mine out.
7. Use old motor mounts and brackets.
8. You may have to remove the Alignment dowels from old slant 6. (The one I bought didn't have the dowels.)
That should be about it.
I hope this helps anyone that is thinking about this task.

Reason I did the swap. 1964 slant 6 had fuel in the oil about 10 quarts of fuel. (Rebuilding 1964 Slant 6 to keep matching numbers because the Dart is the Golden anniversary edition and convertible.)
