3.6 ticking problems
I thought this might help understand the problem with the 3.6 ticking. As in the late Hemi rocker arm failure is a problem.

That was an excellent helpful video Iowan. Ironically my wife owns a 2015 Grand Cherokee with the 3.6 engine with 75K on it. I'd love to know what oil this person used and what wear PSI rating the oil had. I've used the top-rated PSI oils in her's since new. I used 5w30 instead of the 20w recommended. These recommendations are based on tech engineer 540RAT. Any rate, the engine is running fine and hopefully for a few more years.

One thing to add, At least for us anyways. We replace the lifters as well.
We also epoxy 2 small magnets on each cylinder head and put a magnetic oil drain plug in the system... And then hope for the best... Happens on a lot of the V-6's 3.7 as well... Just crappy parts as far as I am concerned. Oil protection shouldn't even be a concern these days.... But they sure have made a mess out of it... Soon they will have us all buying cars and trucks at 6 years or 36,000 mile..
Just my 2 cents...

Aren’t roller cams great, it’s funny I don’t remember hearing about roller lifters or rockers failing in the 90s on the OEMs…

You are so correct.... I cant count how many cams and lifters sets I reused back in the old days... Use to even reuse the roller cam stuff all the time... Cant get away with it now days... I still have cams out in the garage that I would have reused in a heartbeat back then.... But not now! Failure is of the essence....
