have a 97 dakota with the stock fuel injected 5.2 318 in it 5 speed trans. lookin at buyin a carburated 318 bored .030 over. guy says it was out of a 69 coronet. newly rebuilt with 360 heads...would my injection system match up or what would need to be done? different heads? intake manifold?...would it mate to my existing trans?

 

Your FI intake will not fit an LA engine. Either keep it carb or an aftermarket FI system

 

I have to ask you "why would you" want to do this?

 

only reason i ask is because i found motor for cheap an was just curious. soundin like the more i look itll just be cheaper to rebuild the one i got. thanks for the info
