According to my old Motor's Manual, tune up specs as follows

Spark plugs, Autolite AL-7B @ .025" gap

breaker points .020" gap, 35--38 degrees dwell

Timing says "DC" or "0" mark on dampener

idle speed 475 RPM

A photo shows the pointer should be on the timing cover almost directly above the dampener.

And no.........I'm not quite THAT old!!! My Dad was, though!!

Thanks. Yes I am that old. I am older than this car by 1 year. My manual gives some information but it refers to #6 cylinder. Do I use #1 or #6. Can you tell me the firing order? Be thankful for Dads.

Thanks, Paul

Firing order is 153624. All I could find in Motor's refers to no1. There are very few engines not timed off no1. IHC V8s are one, they use no8 which I've always thought was plain silly
