440 idle problems

good afternoon everyone
i took the car out the other night and started to have some problems.
once it got warmed up
it would cruise fine around 40. fine on the expressway. no issues at all.
but at a light the car would start to bog down and idle very weakly and eventually die out if i didnt rev it up.
car sits and doesnt die out in park though

i know the carb is pretty ratty on it. a little leaky from time to time.
does this sound like a carb problem? like its just seen its last day

check your oil.
I once had a Holley carb that leaked so much gas into the manifold it added 3-4 quarts into the crankcase. The crankshaft was swimming.

That sounds like a vacuum leak, or a poorly adjusted carb, actually could be a number of things, hows the timing, all plugs firing?

If you're fine at speed, but losing it at idle when hot, I'd check for vacuum leaks first. (What's your vac at idle?)

Assume your curb idle is set high enough? That may only be a problem is you have an automatic choke, as that may mask the problem on a cold start.
