It has a stormBerg ww 3-240. the plunger on the throttle sticks up and won't go back down. Pop and cracks when turning it over but won't start.

 

Stromberg carbs were a really good carb. Unfortantly the power valve in the center of these wear out and they have problems since there is nothing to replace them.

You can remove the carb and clean it really well, put a kit in it and it will run nice OR you can change to a carter bbd 1/4 which bolts on nicely. Will still look stock as it was an option for these cars.

 

many many years ago i worked on the chrysler carter carbs a lot . and some Stromberg carbs allso a good carb. but the chrysler O.E.M. Holleys was junk. i realy was into the AFBs

 

I am also having this problem on a recently rebuilt stromberg 3-251... accelerator pump refuses to work.
Any one have opinions as to what I may try?
