Help me to buy a carburetor
Hi Everyone.
I want to upgrade my old Holley 2245 2bbl for a 4bbl mainly in order get a bit more mpg from my mopar and get a better performance.
I want to buy this intake http://www.ebay.com/itm/SB-DODGE-MOP...5f322a&vxp=mtr but I'm not sure about what carburetor should I buy.
In other forum thread an user recommended to me this carb http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-C...d12880&vxp=mtr but I think a 650 CFM carb is a little big for my 360 V8.
Would be better to buy a vacuum secondaries or a mechanical secondaries carb?

Those 2 barrels work very well.... I dont think your going to see an improvement in MPG by going to a 4 barr. Carb....they just run lean..
Just fyi...
Now if you just want to a 4 barr. carb with a manifold.... Performer RPM with a 650 Vac sec. Holley is my choice with electric choke....

Buy what you want! spend $100 or $500 your choice. The TQ secondary is adjustable, primarys were small. which is why it will work on a 318 or a 360 or even a 440 I had both on my 360 I even had a Holley 750 on it at one time...

That's no fun ! My Volare RR street car would do low 14.20's 99-100mph with the TQ fast enough to make it fun. Doesn't sound that fast but the first time I ran it 69 mph :-(. Still have the carb in the garage & a bunch of parts. I use to cannibalize them at the local pick a part

Me too.... Pick-a-part is a great place.... But the Pick'ins are getting mighty slim these days for hot rodding parts....lol
Cheers...

What about a Rochester Quadrajet on a Mopar 360?
I already had one Rochester Quadrajet from a Chevy V6 on my basement but I don't know how much CFM it has, it needs to be cleaned and restored but I ever listen that they are great carbs

But please remember: I already Bought this Intake http://www.ebay.com/itm/SB-DODGE-MOP...5f322a&vxp=mtr
Does the Quadrajet Will this fit with no problems or should I continue with the initial idea to install a 4BBL Carter on it?

Josehf34.... Go with a carb that fits that manifold.... It's easier for you to put on....
The Q.J. might be hard to install....
Kind of hard to find one now... Discontinued....http://www.carburetion.com/Rochester.asp

Q-jet is a good carb and can have the secondary air valve adjusted like the TQ to work on small engines. You'll need a spreadbore adapter plate for that manifold and some fabrication, but if I have just about any carb on hand I use it.
Have you looked at the newer Street Demon? I just bought one for the truck but don't have it on yet for any feedback.

I've always read in forums that Quadrajet is a good option for performance and very decent MPG but I begin to believe it isn't a viable option so I think I must buy the carter AFB.
The Q-jet will be a good decorative element in my desktop

Well Now I got my engine rebuilded running again with the stock 2245 Holley but definitely the Holley is destroyed, my mechanic change the jets many times, adjust the mixture screws and cleaned the carb but when I'm using the car him turn unstable and the car shuts off so I think is time to swap for a 4 BBL
I bought this intake manifold http://www.ebay.com/itm/SB-DODGE-MOP...5f322a&vxp=mtr and someone recommended me this carter carb: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-C...d12880&vxp=mtr
What about this carter? looks in good shape or is junk? I drive my Fury 74 like if I was an old man rarely I drive over 45mph but I want to get good MPG numbers remember this car is my daily driver.
Can be a good option to buy a rebuild kit like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARTER-AFB-C...d88a6f&vxp=mtr ?

I got a question:
What kind of hardware Will I need to install the make the swap from the Holley 2245 to the Carter AFB 625?
The throttle linkage will fit?

This looks like a very good one? I can send a copy of the instal instructions if you need them
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARTER-4-BAR...f8cb15&vxp=mtr
You need a square bore carb to go with that manifold

This is for a Cuda / Challenger W/360/727
http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/in...?topic=83382.0
Scroll down the page....... To see the Dia.....
I would say your best bet of picking them up would be at a wrecking yard you e-bay. But get it for YOUR car and engine.

So this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-C...d12880&vxp=mtr will fit in the posted intake? or will be a better choice this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARTER-4-BAR...f8cb15&vxp=mtr
I already bought a carb paint to restore the carb

Thank you for all the help, I really appreciate all the assistance and patience I had received from forum users
Today I read in hotrodders forum that some 2BBL carburetor throttle linkages fits in some 4BBL carburetor but I'm not sure about this. I take this two pictures of my holley linkage to see if someone can confirm if this will fit in the new carter carb.
In other forums some users recommend this two kits for the swap process from 2bbl to 4bbl
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lokar-ACA-18...220388&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lokar-XS...d89690&vxp=mtr
What of these items must I buy to do the swap?
I'm very confused I thought the swap would be easier
EDIT: I miss something: Will be possible to use the stock A/C compressor with the new intake? or should I buy a new mounting bracket that fits in the new intake?

Looks like you have it all......
Only thing you might need would be the bracket that's on the intake. Everything else should work fine.
I think if you use the 2 barrel carb bracket the arm for the TV linkage is just not straight but it will still work.. It just looks funny....

So Can I use my stock kickdown linkage or should I buy the Lokar Linkage?
