need help

need help

on my 67 valiant slant 6 i have a tube that sits in the intake under the carb. i'm not sure what it is for but mine had a melt down last week and i have been trying to find this part or some way to plug the hole in the intake. soes anyone here have any ideas.

Make sure you have the proper concave washers for the exhaust

i will have to take some pics next week when i go out to where my car is. it looks like a stainless bolt that screws into the intake floor under the carb. between the intake and exhaust manifold.

tried to up load some pics from my phone but for some reason i couldn't. but i did come up with a solution. i am using a bolt that is the same size as the threads and a couple of washers and a nut. screw the bolt into the intake with a washer then install another washer on the bottom with the nut then tack the nut into place.

Are you sure it is a 67 engine I seem to remember that pipe under the newer engines and it was part of the EGR system and 67 didn't have EGR...Bill

the engine was replaced before i got the car. not sure what year it is.
