Recommend me a carb for 1979 Cordoba

I'm looking for a 2bbl replacement carb for my Cordoba that I can use with the stock intake. I'm trying to get away from the whole lean burn situation.

I know the best thing to do would be to scrap the original carb and intake and go with an Edelbrock Performer setup, but I really don't want to invest that much money if at all possible.

Any recommendations?

Dump all the lean burn stuff

a good aluminum intake and a 600 cfm carb is the way to go.even a old late 1960s cast iron 4bbl intake will work.and throw that lean burn distributizer away too.

It should run ok without the lean burn. You need to install a conventional ign. Distributor, ign module & ballast resistor Probably $50 at the local Pick a Part
from any 318/360 70-80? car, truck, van Or might find a set on ebay
Here is a cheap option

I had the carb rebuilt and bought the distributor mentioned earlier. I also had to get a new coil and plug wires. Runs real nice.

Was a problem since new.. The conversion was done a lot by the factory !!! They had to get approval from the EPA to do so, but they had so many drivability complaints
