Timed Vacuum port Charter AFB
Timed Vacuum port Charter AFB
on my 1959 Chrysler I have a Charter AFB carburetor. On the vacuum hose that goes to the Vacuum bell at the Distributor, should it "suck" in that hose all the time or is it at certain gas (I read on internet that the name was Timed vacuum port)?
Should only have vacuum off Idle..... So that means "Ported Vacuum"
Normally the small port, in front, on the passenger side of the carb...

Not supposed to have vacuum at idle..... Only supposed to have vacuum off of idle.... Put a Vacuum gauge hooked up to the hole... Give it some throttle and see if it has vacuum at that port... If it thats the correct port, If not then that not the correct port.
Check this out....
