my 1986 ram charger 4wd tranny leaks badly.Leaked 1 month after purchase.Installed new turque converter seal. Not the problem. So replaced pump with new nos ,converter, and installed a rebuild kit,but did not mess with the valve body. Also installed a new 3 row radiator[had all the parts in my warehouse already to go]Will add from day 1,the tranny took a long time to shift thru the gears till it reached temp. Then it ran great all day. That never changed even after I installed a rebuild kit in it.Fluid had great color til the day it poured out all over my driveway. It was almost black. It was never in 4 wd during this time. The owner had differential rebuilt by a pro,but he rebuilt the tranny[found all the receipts].Any suggestions?

Did you ever ajust the bands?
Or check the seals at the shift linkage or pan gasket?

Make sure you take it apart and clean it also... Dont forget to use the rite lube putting it all back together. and be careful not to rip or roll over and of the seals.
Cheers
