4 speed tranny question

Can somebody tell me what 4 speed tranny was used behind a 340 or 360? Is it an A833 like the big blocks used?
Thanks,
Marty

Yes all were 833 But there were differences. Input spline- Output shaft length, shifter position are the main difference. Now the later Aspen-Volare 4 speed is a 3 speed with 4 being an overdrive

The whinning could be cheap gearset or improperly set up differential.

4th gear was same on all transmissions You could swap to the later Volare style for slight overdrive, change the rear to 3.23 or slow down
wines out ? I think he is referring to too many RPM's

Just a little bit of history and ratios:http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmis...ed-manual.html

If either of you want lower rpm try larger diameter rear tires.
