727 E body gearshift control bracket

I have a 73 E body that had a 904 and floor mounted shifter. Im swapping to a 727 when I noticed the (replacement) 727 does not have the tab under the tailshaft to bolt the bracket to hold the bottom of the gearshift linkage in place. The 904 has the tab right below the speedometer cable hookup that is cast as part of the transmission casing. My 727 does not. It certainly does not appear that it was ground off of the 727 and no evidence it broke off either. The 727 did come from a 75-76 Dodge pickup. Does that matter? And is there a bracket to use to make this work in an E body?

I think the truck trans were slightly different in the tail shaft. (or maybe that was only the 4-spd?) How long is your tailshaft?

I will have to go measure to be sure but I think it was approximately 4" longer than the 904's tailshaft??
