a518 on 85 360 la

i have a 92 a518 in a 85 dodge ram and its bolted behind a 360 the tranny came out of a d150 with non lockup converter and the old 727 kickdown linkage and it has a holley street avenger 670 and i feel like it doesnt down shift easy enuff if i slow down then hit the gas it just doesnt down shift unless it punch the gas how should i adjust the kickdown so it down shifts earlier and its a rod style not cable thanks ahead of time advise much appreciated

You cant adjust the linkage to fix that. A shift kit may have what you need. Consult with Summit Racing or Jegs.

IT is adjustable.. Either at the trans or at the carb..

i put a kit in mine but the linkage should be adjusted to the rear
the arm pushes back to increase trany fluid pressure. should cause a kick down but if you want a more street/strip feel then a shift improvement kit is the ticket i used a ATC reprogramming shift improvement kit.

hi did you do this swap ? if so what did you do about converter weights flexplate ect. ?

You have to use the 360 tork convertr .... lock up is available check out my post big time swap the kick down govner.is adjusted by spring the shift improvment kit contains all the parts check out PACT.COM They have all parts needed
