Aisin Transmission Info

I am looking to buy a new Ram 3500 dually 4X4 and it has become very intense with all the options.. I've got the truck down to Ram 3500 with the Laramie package and the transmission is a 3k option if I get the Aisin trans. From what I understand from asking many questions is the Aisin trans. has lower gears and is usually paired up with 3.42:1 ratio and also gets the bigger HP and torque 6.7L cummins engine. They also tell me it runs 25% cooler then the standard 6 speed auto. It also increases the towing capacity.. Does anyone know anything about the Aisin transmission??? Most of the dealers I have been to have Mopar babes for sales people and while fun to ask a bunch of questions and act like you don't know to see how they answer.. And of course the eye candy ( I'll take all I can get) it doesn't help me with my purchase.. I just don't know if I need the 3k option or not.. I will be pulling a 20k 5th wheel RV across the country and don't want any problems on the road esp. in the dessert....Thanks..Bill

I have been asked about fuel mileage being pore... ???

But I say go Allison... No problem getting it fixed where ever you go.... If thats an option in the new ones... I have not looked over the 2015's yet

Bob, I did as much homework as I can about this and it just gets even more confusing.. Opinions are like arsholes everyone has one and some of them stink.. LOL.. The problem with your remedy is they don't offer a Allison transmission.. It is either the standard 6 speed 68RE or the Aisin 6sp which by the way also increases towing capacity greatly.. What scares me is... how new it is and that it is made in Japan But so are Honda Toyota and Nissan Etc. and they all seem to be good Transmissions and hold up well to abuse. I just don't know what to do... It has the best warranty of the 3, at 7/100,000.. and my 2003 Ram 2500HD has only got 40,000 miles on it as of now after 11 almost 12 years and I am a maintenance freak so I think it should be ok.. I guess I'll find out...Bill

I think you get the bigger motor and more torq with the added towing and payload if you get the Aisin Trans.....
Just my 2 cents..

By the way are you wanting to go gas or Diesel?
