New user, first post. My wife and I recently purchased a 73 Tioga on the B300 chasis with a rebuilt 360. I recently overhauled the front brakes (rear are next, but have been serviced more recently) from the pads to the power booster. I'm almost ready to put her on the road, but the last time I fired her up, I sprang a leak in the transmission somewhere. It would appear I spilled quite a bit of fluid. It doesn't appear to be coming from the trans gasket, but I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from. I'm about to start pulling plugs and linkages to look for the issue, but if anyone has access to schematics, troubleshooting tips, or has an inkling what the issue may be, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks.

P.S. this old box has been sitting for over a year and I am desperate to get it on the road.

Could be the tailshaft seal, dip stick tube seal or front pump seal if it is not coming from the pan. I don't have a breakdown though, sorry.

 

78D200 - So i cranked her up and simulated some miles, then checked the dipstick. The footprint on the puddle underneath the trans is kinda big, so imagine my suorise when the dipstick shows a little more than full. Before I cranked it, I did my best to wipe off all the hunk and little liquid on and around the trans, and it appears to be coming from a linkage on the drivers side of the box. I'm not sure how to get the son of a gun apart though, so I'm going to take her for a spin up to Oreilly's and see if my motorhome enthusiast guy up there has any ideas. Thanks for the welcome and the response. Hope it's this, and not one of the problems you mentioned! I have a trip budget that I'm trying my dangedest not to turn into a repair budget!

 

Trans cooler lines are on the drivers side too. Some thing to check..
