replacing axles in 8 3/4

Does it make any difference which axle goes into which side after new bearings have been put on axles? I had the bearings replaced with the new sealless bearings but don't remember which side was marked with white painted dot on the axle. Thanks from an old school guy who's memory ain't so good anymore. LOL!!

my 1967 chrysler factory service manual shows the bearing adjuster goes on the right side. best to get the right year FACTORY service manual. they are very good.

Just put them in. Also know, you dont have to take apart the drum brake assembly to get them in or out

turn adjuster clock wise till both wheel bearings are seated and the total end play is zero. tap with a plastic mattet to set it. back off adjuster counterclockwise about 4 notches to get total end play to .013 to .023 " paraphrased from 1967 chrysler factory service manual. 8 3/4 axle

With stock bearings the adjuster on right side. If you have installed aftermarket Green Bearings It doesn't matter. Replacing the tapered bearings with the roller reduces the side loading capabilities of the bearings

The green bearings are CRAP if you drive on the street. Better keep a fresh set in the glove box. They are great for drag racing though.

Green Bearings

They are the new Green Bearings and it will be about half and half street/strip. I just couldn't remember if it mattered which side with the new bearings. Thanks Guys for your Feedback. I guess now its time to get back to work.
